I always have to Google how to do a 301 redirect so I figured to put my own guide on my blog.
Doing a 301 redirect using this method is only if you own your own domain name and can access the server.
It is important to use one URL for your blog or website, with or without the www in the front. On this blog I have chosen to use the www, but on others I haven’t.
If someone links to saying BloggingAddiction.com and I don’t forward that to www.BloggingAddiction.com the link may not count for the www address. I usually prefer just http://bloggingaddiction.com.
If you haven’t set your preference yet, it’s easy. Just log on to your server with an FTP program (I use filezilla) and fine the .htaccess in the root directory. Download it and open it with notepad. Then insert the following code after what is already in there but before the #END WordPress tag.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.YOURDOMAIN\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://YOURDOMAIN.com/$1 [R=301,L]
Of course you need to substitute the YOURDOMAIN with your own address. Make sure not to remove any of the slashes or code otherwise it won’t work.
Save the changes and upload the .htaccess back to your server.
Now anytime you type in www.yourdomain.com it will redirect without the WWW. Therefore all of your inbound links will count to that version of your domain, which could make your pagerank and SERPs better.

I currently have 4 banners displaying on my sidebar. Most of you know Blog about your Blog, I often mention it. The others are new.
The first is Bidz.com and their affiliate program.
Bidz Affiliate Program
Bidz is an Ebay competitor which specializes in jewelry. They offer discount jewelry through auctions. Every minute a new auction starts at $1.
Through NeverblueAds you can advertise for Bidz and make decent money. Bidz is offering $6.50 per lead. Converts off 1st Page, 6 Field Lead Submit.
As an incentive:
Top Performing publishers for the advertiser will receive a pay bump pending review.
Performance is based on number of SALES generated for the advertiser. Publishers will be notified of their performance on a monthly basis.
The estimated earn per click is about 42 cents, which isn’t bad, especially if you run a pay per click campaign with this advertiser.
Start promoting Bidz and sign-up to NeverblueAds.

That only takes a few days, so you should see ads in my text soon.Bloggers like me are always looking to find new ways to monetize their blogs, without it hurting the blog. You can also use it with any of your advertising you are currently displaying like Adsense.

Your video could be worth 500$! Even second and third place are rewarded with 250$ and 100$, respectively.
This offer is only valid for publishers or advertisers currently registered with Kontera. If I didn’t give you a big enough reason to join before, the contest should definitely motivate you to give it a shot.

It has been long overdue, to really utilize this blog and make it look, well, professional. It took me about an hour to set up the hosting and move from a blogger hosted domain to a Wordpress account.
Previously this blog was a small project, after realizing it’s potential with it’s own domain I moved forward. Since the PR slap I’ve decided to remove all of the sponsored posts and try to comply with google.
To start, I removed this domain as being hosted by Blogger, and set up it’s own hosting with Hostmonster. I had to relocate the name servers of the domain to point to hostmonster.
Then came the fun part. Installing Wordpress and moving all of the content from the blogger.
To do this you go to manage, select “import” then move from blogger. I was surprised really at how easy this was. It took only a minute to import all of the posts as well as comments from the blogger hosted content.
Next was installing the theme. For this blog I chose the Structure Theme from Jason Tadlock. The structure theme is definitely my favorite theme I’ve worked with. It is a little more complicated than others, but each theme takes some time to get used to.
Here is the before and the after:

I read on Can I Make Big Money Online that Kontera just announced a new contest where you can win 1,000$ worth of free advertising with Kontera. Second and third are 500$ and 100$.
To enter you need to make a video testimonial about the benefits of Kontera. I’d imagine this could range from making money from them to using them for advertising.
The video can be up to 3 minutes. The contest hasn’t officially started, it runs from Dec 1 to March 2008. Thats way too long in my opinion. They must not of read the 6 tips to running a contest.
Scams advertisements can be the disguised form of security threat that can be easily propagated through online file sharing. Data being a precious resource must be guarded by making backup computer files. In case there is any physical or logical damage to the data files, data recovery is a must by backup software. In case of some severe threat and the consequent loss of primary data the services of some data recovery group are outsourced.

Responding to the immense competition in search engine marketing, today’s internet marketers are attempting at every single technique, be it email marketing to randomly searched out email addresses or link exchange with the carefully selected websites in the form of a pre-planned internet marketing program, to get seen on the search pages.

Looking for more ways to monetize my blogs, I’ve been accepted to Chitika. I mentioned I was trying out Bidvertiser on this blog hoping to add more incoming from it rather than just from doing some sponsored posts.
With Chitika you display links to different products. You get to chose the category of what you want to display. For each click you receive $. I am going to start experimenting with it on my blogs to see how it performs. I will also be adding it to the sidebar on this blog.

There isn’t too much advertising on this blog and I like keeping it that way. However I do have one banner at the top. It used to be Auction Ads, but that wasn’t making money on several of my blogs. I am turning to alternate ways to make money.
Bidvertiser is getting another trial run as the main advertising network on this blog. I will report my stats as they go, I hope this proves to be a earner for me. Any other ideas are more than welcome.
Promote your Website with BidVertiser. Get $20 in FREE clicks. I have used the free 20$ for my advertising campaigns. It’s great to experiment with and see what advertising with Bidvertiser can do for you.
